HTML main Tag – يحدد الوسم <main> المحتوى الرئيسي للمستند.
HTML main Tag
تتكون منطقة المحتوى الرئيسي بالمحتوى المرتبط مباشرة بالموضوع المركزي للمستند، ويجب ألا يحتوي على أي محتوى يتكرر عبر مجموعة من المستندات أو أقسام المستندات مثل:
- الأشرطة الجانبية
- روابط التنقل
- معلومات حقوق النشر
- شعارات الموقع
- نماذج البحث (ما لم يكن نموذج البحث هو الوظيفة الرئيسية للصفحة).
من فوائد الوسم <main> بأنه لا يساهم في مخطط المستند؛ وهذا يعني ، على عكس العناصر مثل <body>، والعناوين مثل <h2> ، وهكذا ، لا يؤثر الوسم <main> على مفهوم DOM لهيكل الصفحة.

يجب أن يكون المحتوى الموجود داخل عنصر <main> فريدًا في المستند.
يجب ألا يكون هناك أكثر من عنصر <main> واحد في المستند.
تبحث وظيفة وضع قارئ المتصفح عن وجود الوسم <main> ، بالإضافة إلى عناصر تقسيم المحتوى والعناوين عند تحويل المحتوى إلى عرض قارئ متخصص.
